- Scope
- The Kazushi Ishida collection spans the years 1956-2007 (bulk 1960-1964) and consists of 0.3 cubic meter of Sogetsu Art Center publications that Kazushi Ishida(Ishida) held. The collection also includes monographs that Ishida wrote and a magazine covering Nam June Paik. Ishida wrote some memos on journals and brochures published by Sogetsu Art Center.
Items are all in Japanese and arranged chronologically.
Highlights of the collection include brochures and programs covering Sogetsu Contemporary Series and Sogetsu Music Inn between 1960 and 1964. Also included are invitation, brochure, and poster of N. J. Paik: Composition, which was held in May, 1964 at Sogetsu Art Center.

- Born in Tokyo, Kazushi Ishida (Ishida) graduated from Musashino Art University majoring piano, and studied music at the same graduate school. Ishida teaches at Keio University and Musashino Art University and writes critics and essays on contemporary music. Ishida published Modernism Variation: Modern and Contemporary Music History in East Asia (モダニズム変奏曲: 東アジアの近現代音楽史) in 2005.
Sogetsu Art Center was a hub for avant-garde as well as experimental art activities in Japan between 1958 and 1971. Sogetsu Art Center hosted various programs including Sogetsu Music Inn, Sogetsu Contemporary Series, Sogetsu Cinematheque. Sogetsu Art Center also published SAC, whose title was changed to SAC Journal later.
