Description
On three articles printed in “The Living Arts” section of The New York Times dated December 14th, 2000, Nam June Paik highlighted certain areas with lines and spirals. The first article reviews how former presidents try to leave their political legacy by building architecture, as the design of Bill Clinton’s Presidential Library was unveiled to the public. The second article covers two separate stories of Germany told by Günter Grass, in celebration of the publication of the English translation of the writer’s novel Too Far Afield (1995): the novel generated a huge dispute within the field of German literature as well as politics, as the novel pointed to several problems within united Germany. The third article announces that the famous comedian and talk show host Rosie O’Donnell is taking the leading role of ‘cat in the hat’ in the Broadway musical Seussical, a story based on Dr. Seuss, who is known as ‘Andersen of the 20th-century.’
