- Title
- Imaginary landscape no.4
- Year
- 1951
- Description
- For his first piece composed using media, Cage used a title meaning ‘a landscape possible only in imagination’. He specified frequencies and beats in this score written for 12 radios, and performers operate radio switches as written in the score. No one can predict what the resulting sounds would be like, because radio frequencies vary in different locations of performance. In this exhibition, visitors can have a look at the way this work is performed through a video of the performance by the students of the Department of Composition in Chugye University for the Arts, Seoul.
