- Three scores and fragments of a broken violin, the remnants of Nam June Paik’s Symphony No. 6 performance, is framed and given the same title as the performance. The symphony was a relay performance; one performer plays a single note with a violin and passes the bow to the next performer, who plays another note, and passes the bow to the next person, and so forth. Prior to this work, Paik composed a series of Fluxus scores called the Symphony. The first symphony was Young Penis Symphony, written in 1962 and published in Décollage Vol. 2. Symphony for Twenty Rooms written the year before, was published in Fluxus Anthology in 1963 and was named Symphony No. 2. Paik explained about his symphonies from No.1 to No. 5 in his 1973 essay, My Symphonies.
